Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. Installation & Safety

  • Do I need a special outlet box ?

Yes. Ceiling fans must be mounted to a junction box marked “For Use With Ceiling Fans” to handle weight and vibration.

  • Can I install a fan on a sloped ceiling ?

Many fans can be installed on slopes up to 30 degrees, but you may need a longer downrod.

  • Should I hire a professional ?

While some fans are easy to install, we strongly recommend a certified electrician to ensure safety and prevent warranty issues.

  • Why is my fan wobbling ?

This is usually caused by loose blade screws or an unbalanced blade. Tighten all screws and check that blades are parallel to the ceiling.

2. Performance & Motor

  • What is a DC motor fan ?

Direct Current (DC) motors are generally quieter, use up to 70% less energy, and provide more speed options than AC motors.

  • Which direction should the fan spin ?

Summer : Counterclockwise to create a cool breeze.

Winter: Clockwise (low speed) to circulate warm air down.

  • How many blades are better ?

Due to modern technology, the number of blades is largely aesthetic. 3-blade fans move as much air as 4 or 5-blade fans.

3. Lighting & Control

  • Can I use a wall dimmer to control the fan speed ?

No.Never use a wall dimmer switch for a fan. It causes motor noise and damage. Use a 3-speed fan control switch or the provided remote.

  • Can I use LED bulbs ?

Yes, most of our fans are equipped with energy-efficient LED light kits.

  • Can I control the light and fan separately ?

Yes, this requires a fan with a 2-wire system or a compatible wall remote.

4. Sizing & Location

  • What size fan do I need?

Small Room ( <100 sq ft ) : 36-44 inch fan.

Medium Room ( 100-300 sq ft) : 44-52 inch fan.

Large Room ( >300 sq ft ) : 52-60+ inch fan.

  • Can I use my fan outdoors ?

Only if it is marked as “Damp Rated” or “Wet Rated.” Do not use indoor fans in high humidity.

5. Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Why is my fan making a humming noise ?

This often indicates a faulty capacitor, often caused by using an incompatible dimmer switch.

  • Can I replace the blades with different ones?

No. Only use the blades included with the unit to prevent motor strain and voiding the warranty.
